We finalised conservation measures

In the winter season 2015/2016 we made the last round of mowing and removing of trees and shrubs from the objects in the project.

In this round of work the 37 ha of fens was mowed and on 37.5 ha we removed shrubs and trees. In total, during the winter seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 we conducted the preparatory mowing on total of 138.2 hectares and on 126.7 hectares we removed trees and shrubs. In this way those surfaces have been prepared to re-extensive mowing. In some cases, the continuation of the execution of protective measures undertook the owners or land managers (eg. SPs) and sometimes this commitment makes Club.

We remind that all of these treatments have been performed using manual equipment – brushcutters and chainsaws and the biomass was removed by hand from the surface of fen.

In the season 2016/2017 we plan to perform additional actions on a small area.
